Kallakurichi Book Festival 2025 was an important literary and educational event organised to promote reading habits among students and the public. The festival featured books from around 47 publishing houses covering literature, education, competitive exams and general knowledge. Various competitions and cultural programmes were conducted for students and visitors. The event also encouraged Tamil literature and provided an opportunity for readers to interact with publishers. The Koovagam Koothandavar Festival is one of the important cultural and religious events associated with Kallakurichi district. The 2025 festival began with the traditional Saagai Vaarthal ceremony at Koovagam. Various religious rituals, cultural programmes and traditional activities were conducted during the festival. Thousands of devotees and members of the transgender community participated in the important ceremonies. The festival concluded after the major rituals connected with Lord Koothandavar and Aravan.
